Vegan Gluten-free Healthy Crackers

Delicious Nutrient Dense, Healthy Crackers 

You can make yourself.

Vegan & gluten-free.

I have made a lot of raw crackers – which are dehydrated (not baked in oven), but they take a very long time so having a baked recipe that also makes really good crackers is ideal!

(The baked are not as healthy as the raw version, but for those that do not have a dehydrator, these are fantastic).

The base and idea for this recipe was posted in my NEW amazing group program “Healthy, Happy YOU” by one of the members who is truly stepping up and changing her life and health.

I borrowed the inspiration for the crackers she posted and made them my own.

I truly do love to find an idea and then play with it and make up my own kind of recipe for them.

So that is what I did with these crackers.

NOTE:  I used buckwheat groats in these crackers but you do not have to add them. You can just substitute them with more seeds.

Seeds are very healthy for you, especially in midlife. 

Nuts and seeds (raw) have the important minerals, healthy fats and fibre that feed our hormones and that our body needs more of during midlife. 

 

BAKED VEGAN SEEDY CRACKERS

  • 1/4 whole flax seeds
  • 2 Tbsp ground flax
  • 1/4 C chia seeds
  • 1/4 C pumpkin seeds
  • 2Tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/4 C sunflower seeds
  • 3 Tbsp buckwheat groats (if you don't have add more seeds)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • Salt and Pepper (didn't measure)
  • About 3/4 C of water

In bowl add all the dry ingredients and stir to mix

Then add the water

Stir and let soak and sit for about 15 or so minute. (I kept stirring and pressing it down into a round shape).

Oven 325 – 340 degrees (could be lower heat also, just take longer)

Then cookie sheet lined with parchment

Spread out evenly and quite thin (I did post pictures of that)

Let bake for over 30 minutes (Not quite sure – so watch them).

Also depends on how thick or thin they are.

Take out and they crisp up pretty fast.

Some broke when I tried to cut but turned out really good.
